Meet Dr. Steinhof

2

Dr. Steinhof has a deep passion for creating success through hard work, commitment and understanding the challenges faced by those in the community that surrounds him.  A lifetime resident of Fall River, his grandparents were immigrants from Europe who came to this country to pursue the American Dream.  Dr. Steinhof’s father, Dr. Edward J. Steinhof, was the youngest child out of six and the only one to receive a college degree and subsequently his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.  Dr. DaviL. Steinhof’s strong work ethic and connection to community was modeled by his father, whose footsteps he chose to follow.

As the owner and operator of Steinhof Dental Clinic, a general dental practice established by his father in 1947, Dr. Steinhof knows all too well the challenges facing small businesses today.  As a healthcare provider, Dr. Steinhof sees first hand the devastating effect this economy and the lack of jobs have had on his patients and their families. If elected, Dr. Steinhof is committed to serving as a voice for businesses in Massachusetts and their families, with the goal of helping them to grow, create and obtain jobs and prosper.

Born and raised in Fall River, Dr. Steinhof has volunteered and been involved with various civic organizations.  He has served on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Fall River and the Executive Board of the Fall River Area Chamber of Commerce.  Dr. Steinhof was a member of the Fall River Lion’s Club and has been a member of the Mass Dental Society and the American Dental Association since 1990.  Dr. Steinhof has volunteered his time on board the MacVan, a mobile outreach program developed by the Mass Dental Society to provide dental care to inner city children.  A recipient of the St. Vincent’s Kaleidoscope Award for Volunteerism, Dr. Steinhof, together with his family, members of his office, patients and friends, heads a drive each Christmas to collect gifts and donations for the children of St. Vincent’s Home.

A graduate of BMC Durfee High School, he attended Providence College where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  Then, deciding to pursue a career in dentistry like his father, he attended Southeastern Massachusetts University, now UMass Dartmouth, to fulfill requirements before attending Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he graduated in 1989.

While attending BMC Durfee High School, one of his first jobs was loading trucks on the third shift at Anderson Little, a once prominent textile manufacturer.   Again, while attending SMU, he worked loading trucks third shift for Roadway to help pay his way through school.

Dr. Steinhof is a strong supporter of our Second Amendment and has been a member of the NRA since 1994.  His beliefs are guided by our Constitution.  He feels strongly that our citizens need to become more involved with their own government to foster meaningful change.

Together with his wife Susan, their two daughters, Wilhelmina, age 14 and Magdalena, age 10, and their Bernese Mountain dogs, Dr. Steinhof enjoys camping, hiking and canoeing.  He also enjoys golfing and tries to participate in charity tournaments each year, such as the Diabetes Association, Michael’s Fund and Antioch School to list a few.  Dr. Steinhof and his family are parishioners at St. Stanislaus Church in Fall River.

Dr. Steinhof hasn’t forgotten his roots and has never stopped caring about or caring for the people he grew up with.  Dr. Steinhof recently ran as a Republican candidate for congress in Massachusetts’s 4th Congressional District, and, working with members and supporters of his campaign, is currently organizing the Bristol County Conservatives, a group dedicated to advancing conservative ideas and candidates in Bristol County.
