their time in, win or lose. And that is exactly what we should all be doing now.

Thank you to all who worked so hard. People like Charlie Chase and Bruce Rex who stood in the cold all day holding signs for the candidates locally and nationally. God Bless you and your families for all of your hard work.

Our losses on Tuesday were devastating. I could barely stand to watch the snippets of the concession speeches by Mitt Romney and Scott Brown but what I cannot stand or stomach is all of the self righteous indignation being spouted by arm chair quarterbacks. If you are a better candidate then step up or shut up and back our best candidate.

Our losses were not due to a shortcoming of any one candidate, a lack of conservative ideals, a particular speech or a weak debate performance. What happened this week was an indictment of our GOP both locally and nationally and yes that includes me. We had all the talking points on our side: the miserable economy, Benghazi, Fast and Furious etc. and yet we lost because the Liberals did what we failed to do. Unify and GOTV (Get Out The Vote).

I learned during my campaign that many people who identify themselves as Republicans in Mass are guilty of the very same shameful activities against other Republicans that we always accuse Democrats of. In the Congressional primary for District 4 I had the opportunity to meet both Dr. Elizabeth Childs and Sean Bielat. I have the utmost respect for both they and their families and consider them valued friends.

Rather than looking upon a three way race as an opportunity to increase enthusiasm and possibly secure a Republican victory, some people surrounding our campaigns spent countless hours on social media attacks. Higher ups in the News media world displayed bias that would make Democrats proud.

Tragically the stakes are too high now. We are not facing slightly higher taxes or slightly larger government programs. We are facing a paradigm shift from Capitalism to Socialism. We can no longer afford the fragmenting of our party by people who criticize and do nothing. It’s time we demand of our friends and neighbors that they get involved. Demand of all the small businesses we patronize that they stand up for private sector and no longer hide behind the excuse of remaining neutral. It’s time we demand of all the organizations like Rod & Gun Clubs, Chambers of Commerce, etc. that they work to help protect our rights and stop hiding behind this veil of being apolitical. It’s time we call out those who stood back and did nothing, who refused to help because the candidates we chose did not live up to every one of their expectations.

There are plenty of hard working Republicans in our ranks like Earl Sholley, Patty Saint Aubin, Richard Pilla, to name but a few, who did what they could to unify and live up to Ronald Reagan’s 11^th Commandment. It may already be too late but we owe our country and our future generations every effort possible.
