A federal judge ruled Monday that a contentious union election rule proposed by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is “invalid.”

In an 18-page memorandum opinion, U.S. District Judge James Boasb

erg struck the regulation down, saying the labor board only had two members when it voted on the final rule in December 2011. Boasberg said the agency needed at least three members to have a quorum for action on the rule. (The Hill: http://thehill.com, May 14)

One of the themes of conservative Republican David Steinhof’s campaign for the open Massachusetts 4th Congressional District House seat is his belief that unelected Washington agencies are making rules with the strength of law that are hurting small business and making the jobless rate in America skyrocket.

When David Steinhof gets to Washington, he will work to enact legislation giving Congress greater oversight over federal agencies, to prevent overreach into peoples’ lives.
